Inside the EU Funding Session
Figuring out EU funding alone is hard. Between dozens of programmes, shifting eligibility rules, and consortium requirements, most founders don't know where to start, or which opportunities actually apply to them. On June 29th, the greenhub at Unicorn Factory Lisboa tackled that problem head-on with a live online session built entirely around the startups who showed up.
A Session Shaped by the Room, Not a Template
What made this session different was how it was built. Instead of a generic overview of EU funding, our EU Funding expert, Bruno, read every registration submission ahead of time, each one describing a startup's stage, sector, and funding ambitions, and used those real questions to shape the agenda. The result was a session grounded in the actual pains founders brought to the table.
That approach meant the session could go deep on the things that matter most when you're actually trying to fund a startup:
Which EU funds genuinely fit a given stage and project - and which ones are a waste of time to pursue
How to find and join consortia, often one of the most confusing parts of applying for EU funding
The specific, practical pains founders are facing right now, whether they were just starting to explore funding or had already applied and wanted to sharpen their approach
Why this Matters for the Hub Community
Sessions like this are exactly the kind of initiative greenhub Immersion members get access to as part of the community. While general attendees paid €30 to join, members across Unicorn Factory Lisboa's Hubs (Engineers Hub, AIhub, greenhub, healthhub, and gaminghub) attended for free.
It's a good example of what membership is really for: not just workspace and networking, but direct, tailored access to the expertise that startups actually need to move forward, in this case, someone who reads what you're building before telling you where to look for funding.
